Tyrry 5-in-1 stud finder employs advanced detection technology, swiftly locating the positions and depths of electrical wires, rebar, wooden beams, pipes, and metal conduit within your walls. It offers a maximum detection depth of 120mm (4.72 inches).
The type of wall that can be detected: Concrete Wall, Drywall, Wooden Wall, Plaster Wall, Stone Wall, Tiled Wall.
The maximum depth of detection is:
Magnetic Metals ≤120mm/4.72in (Rebars/Iron Pipes)
Non-magnetic Metals ≤100mm/3.94in (Copper/Aluminum/Stainless steel pipe and other non-iron metals pipes)
Live AC Wires ≤50mm/1.97in
Wooden Beams ≤38mm/1.50in
Plastic Pipe Filled with Water ≤38mm/1.50in
Live AC wires are prioritized for detection in all modes.
If a live AC wire is detected, the illuminated ring will start flashing red, a beep alert will sound, and a flashing lightning icon will appear in the upper right corner of the display. Various notifications warn you of the presence of live electricity.
Due to variations in signal strength caused by wire positioning, it's necessary to move the scanner repeatedly to locate "live" wires in an area multiple times for precise positioning.
1. When using the wall scanner, place the scanner tightly against the wall and move it slowly along a vertical or horizontal straight line.
2. When no stud is detected, the illuminated ring will be green, and there will be no stud icon on the screen.
3. Upon detecting a stud, a stud icon will appear on the screen, the illuminated ring will turn orange.
In metal mode, the distance from the scanner to the studs will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Other modes will show the strength of the left and right signals.
4. When the stud is in the center of the scanner, the illuminated ring will turn red, a beeping sound will occur, and the screen will display the word "center" with the depth of the stud shown at the bottom of the screen.

In all modes,this wall scanner always detect and indicate Live AC Wires. Depth is not displayed in this mode, so please do not drill! (Unshielded wires without electricity will be recognized as metal) |

CalibrationPerform calibration before each scan. Point the detector into the air, press and hold the Multi-functional Wall Detector Model button, and wait for the data to disappear from the display. When the illuminated ring turns green, it means the scanner is ready. |
Stud DetectionFor a more accurate detection, keep the finder pressed against the wall and then slowly move the measuring studs. When the edge of the stud is scanned, the expected position and depth of the stud will appear on the display and the buzzer will beep intermittently. |
Locating the StudWhen the stud appears precisely at the center of the display, the illuminated ring turns red and the scanner emits a beep. The word "center" in the screen is displayed steadily without flashing. This means that you have located the stud's center. Mark it with a pencil for reference. |
